The Roman poet, Horace, once said, “A picture is a poem without words.” As a photographer I love that concept! Images can speak to us in unexpected ways, and when revisited they may give us new thoughts or feelings.
Lately I have been relishing spring and the color bursting forth. Perhaps these new photographs from my camera journey inspire you without words. What do you see? What do you hear? How do you feel?
Just as I find inspiration in flowers, Emily Dickinson did too as evidenced in this delightful poem of hers.
Perhaps You’d Like to Buy a Flower
Perhaps you’d like to buy a flower?
But I could never sell
If you would like to borrow
Until the daffodil
Unties her yellow bonnet
Beneath the village door,
Until the bees, from clover rows
Their hock and sherry draw,
Why, I will lend until just then,
But not an hour more!
You certainly can buy a fine art print of one of these flowers, but for the moment I will lend them to you through this magical electronic communication. 2015 continues to be very promising for my camera journey, so stay tuned. Until next time, enjoy the gifts of spring.
